Ryota Komatsu / Bandoneón 小松亮太 / バンドネオン

Born in 1973 in Tokyo. His debut CD (Sony Music Japan International) came out in 1998, which was recorded with many great artists, such as F.Suarez Paz, H. Malvicino, G.Gandini and H.Console, the ex-members of Astor Piazzolla Quintet.

In 1999, he made his Carnegie Hall debut which was produced by Ettore Stratta. After this debut, he is concert appearances have extended to Germany, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea and Mexico.

He has released 14 of highly acclaimed discs from Sony. In January 2003, his album “Live in TOKYO~2002” was released in Argentina. Also some of titles have been releasing in Korea, too. He gave fascinating live concerts in Buenos Aires, and was awarded ASOCIACION ARGENTINA DE INTERPRETES and so on.

In the fall of 2004, Komatsu produced his live “Tango Spirit 3” with Maria Grana who is the top of the Argentina tango singers, and Osvaldo Berlingieri who is a great master of tango pianist.

He went on a tour of South America (Argentina, Brasil, Peru, Paraguay), sponsored by Japan Foundation from February 2005. Moreover, he has joined the every “live image” tour which is very long tour in Japan since 2001. After 2007, he started to compose officially such include theme tune of TV show. In February 2008, he had world premiere of Astor Piazzolla’s El Pueblo Joven (text by Horacio Ferrer) in Tokyo Opera City Concert Hall and it was really succeed with full-house.

In the past, Komatsu has played with such wonderful artists as NHK symphony orchestra, Bajofondo Tangoclub, Michel Legrand, Makoto Ozone, Jake Shimabukuro, Tetsuya Kumakawa and so on.

Literally, Ryota Komatsu is one of the few renowned bandoneón players in the world.
